#8 – Garrett Hedlund
Who? Sam Flynn in last year’s Disney sequel TRON: Legacy.
Why So Hot? Hedlund quietly stole Country Strong from Gwyneth Paltrow, and held his own against Oscar winner Jeff Bridges in TRON: Legacy. But it will be his portrayal of Dean Moriarty in On the Road, the beloved beat novel by Jack Kerouac that will nudge him into the A List.
He signed on to the film years before production was able to start, and has shown himself to be extremely dedicated to the project – Hedlund and director Walter Salles spent an additional two weeks in April 2011 driving across America to snag more footage.
What’s Next? Country Strong didn’t perform too well in the UK and there’s still no release date for On the Road. His breakout moment is surely coming, though.
